‘ 'General Honest Thought': Four French patriots -
Drieu la Rochelle, Robert Brasillach, Louis Ferdinand Céline & Alphonse de Châteaubriant'
''This was the noblest Roman of them all. All the conspirators save only he, Did what they did in envy of great Caesar, He only in a general honest thought, And common good to all, made one of them.''
As recognised by Shakespeare, honesty of thought is a rare thing - a rare thing in the twentieth century and even rarer now - yet among what the mass media term 'the far-right ' it has found its last refuge. This honesty is exemplified in the lives and careers of four French novelists, who loyally and courageously held to their faith until death, earning them the grudging respect even of those who are diametrically opposed to them. Using four directions to our compass, Michael Guiver, who lives in fair France and is fluent in its language, will take us on a guided tour of these four stirring examples of general honest thought. To those who wish to destroy our culture they are just dead, white, males, but to those who still have minds able to think they are very much alive and what's more have the capacity to wake up the rest of our race.
